Do doulas need insurance?

While doula business insurance is not a legal requirement, it is highly recommended as doulas covered by insurance are protected if an unfortunate legal situation were to occur.

How much does doula insurance cost?

Doula insurance premiums start from £82.70 per year (including Insurance Premium Tax at the prevailing rate and a Morton Michel fee of £3 for policies starting on 01/02/2023 onwards).

You can also choose to pay your premium in monthly instalments, from £9.10 per month (including Insurance Premium Tax at the prevailing rate and a Morton Michel fee of £3 for policies starting on 01/02/2023 onwards).

The above premiums are based on a standard Doula policy. Extra covers are available at an additional cost.

The monthly interest rate is 10% (equivalent APR of 19.5%), payable over 10 monthly instalments. The total amount payable is £90.97 and cost of credit is £8.27

We use Premium Credit Limited, who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, to provide finance exclusively and Morton Michel are acting as the credit broker. We may receive a commission for introducing customers to them.
